Day 1 – Apr 28

Late afternoon departure from Toronto to Barcelona.

Day 2 – Apr 29

Noon arrival in Barcelona. Transfer to our hotel, some time for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Apr 30

Full day in Barcelona. In the morning we the visit enchanting Benedictine monastery in Montserrat and the Black Madonna of Montserrat. After lunch our tour of Barcelona features the Columbus Monument, elegant tree lined “Ramblas” and Plaza de Catalonia, Paseo de Gracia and the famous church of Sagrada Familia. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – May 01

After breakfast we travel to Lourdes in France. En route we visit Carcassonne and tour this medieval fortified town and its fine Gothic cathedral. Upon arrival in Lourdes Mass, dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

Day 5 – May 02

Full day in Lourdes. Time to visit the Grotto and the Basilicas. We will have Mass and The Way of The Cross, time for individual prayer and bath, dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – May 03

After morning Mass we leave through Pyrenees to Spain and its capital of Madrid. En route we stop in Zaragoza, where we visit the Basilica dedicated to Our Lady Of The Pillar. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – May 04

Morning sightseeing tour of Madrid takes us to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Espana with its monument to Cervantes, Celebes fountain, elegant Calla Alcala and Paseo Castellana. We also view the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. In the afternoon excursion to Toledo. Situated on a granite hill surrounded on three sides by river Tagus, the ancient capital of Castille attracts more sightseers than any other Spanish town. We visit the 13th century Cathedral, where we celebrate Mass, and Moorish bridge. Return to Madrid for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – May 05

From Madrid we travel to university town of Salamanca. En route visit Avila, the city of St. Theresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. After Mass in Avila we depart to Salamanca. Time for pleasurable stroll through mediaeval streets of Salamanca and its splendid Plaza Mayor and university founded in 1218. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – May 06

This morning we move to Santiago de Compostella, the burial place of St. James and major pilgrimage destination since Middle Ages. We visit the Cathedral dedicated to St. James and the Old City. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10 – May 07

Today we cross the border to Portugal and travel to Fatima. Upon arrival in Fatima dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

Day 11 – May 08

Full day in Fatima. Mass, visit the site of apparitions, the old and the new basilica. We also visit the houses of the children, have some free time for individual prayers, dinner, procession with candles and overnight.

Day 12 – May 09

After breakfast we are transferred to the airport in Lisbon for our flight back to Toronto. Afternoon arrival.
