Day 1 – Sep. 28

Evening departure from Ottawa to Riga.

Day 2 – Sep. 29

Afternoon arrival in Riga, the capital city of Latvia. Transfer to hotel for overnight. Dinner in hotel.

Day 3 – Sep. 30

Our morning tour of the city takes us to the Old Town, Statue of Roland, House of Blackheads and more. Continue to Hill of the Crosses in Lithuania, pilgrimage site with over 100,000 crosses brought by devoted pilgrims. Afternoon carry on to Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania, Mass, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Oct. 1

Full day in beautiful Vilnius. We visit the Old Town, Gediminias Castle, classicist Cathedral, The Gates of Dawn, world famous and the most visited shrine in Vilnius, containing the painting of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, where we celebrate Mass. Continue to the Holy Trinity Church, dedicated to Divine Mercy and St. Faustina Kowalska, where the original image of the Divine Mercy Jesus is located. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Oct. 2

Today we travel to Bialystok in Poland. En route we stop in Sokółka, a site of Eucharistic miracle in 2008. Upon arrival in Bialystok we visit some places related to Bl. Michał Sopoćko, the spiritual director of St. Faustina and first promoter of the Divine Mercy message. We celebrate Mass in Divine Mercy Sanctuary, where his remains are buried. Mass, dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Oct. 3

Today we travel to Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. Upon arrival we embark on a sightseeing tour of Warsaw that includes St. Stanislaus Kostka church, commemorating martyrdom of Bl. Jerzy Popieluszko, the Old Town, view of the Royal Palace and Barbican. Mass, dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Oct. 4

Morning departure to Krakow. En route we visit Franciscan monastery established by St. Maximilian Kolbe in Niepokalanow. Continue to Czestochowa – the site of Poland’s greatest shrine and pilgrimage destination – Our Lady of Czestochowa, also known as the “Black Madonna”. We venerate the priceless and miraculous icon and celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.

Day 8 – Oct. 5

Today we visit Lagiewniki – world-known as “Divine Mercy Shrine”. This is where St. Faustina had had numerous visions of Christ, who told her to keep a diary of their encounters, during which he spoke to her of the Divine Mercy. We visit the convent of St. Faustina, her tomb and relics and celebrate Mass. We also visit a sanctuary commemorating St. John Paul II. Afternoon continue with a visit to the world-famous salt mines in Wieliczka. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.

Day 9 – Oct. 6

After breakfast we tour Krakow’s Old Town. We visit the Market Square, St. Mary’s church and its Gothic masterpiece altar by Veit Stoss and view Wawel Royal Castle and the Cathedral. Afternoon we travel to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi concentration camp. We visit a cell in which St. Maximilian Kolbe died and also the Martyrdom Museum recalling the horrors of the Holocaust. Return to Krakow for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 – Oct. 7

Today we travel to Legnica. En route we stop in Wroclaw where we will visit the gothic Cathedral, the Market Square, lined with elegant townhouses and featuring a modern fountain and gothic Old Town Hall with its large astronomical clock. Continue to Legnica to visit St. Jacek church, a site of Eucharistic miracle where we celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight.

Day 11 – Oct. 8

This morning we travel to Prague, the capital city of Czech Republic. En route we stop in Świdnica and visit the Church of Peace, the largest wooden church listed by UNESCO. Continue to Prague for dinner and overnight.

Day 12 – Oct. 9

Full day in beautiful Prague. We visit the Church of Our Lady of Victory and see the renowned statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. We visit the Old Town by the way of Golden Lane and then go to the Lesser Town to see the medieval Charles Bridge. We also see St. Nikolas Church, the Astronomic Clock and the Castle District where we tour St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and Wenceslas Square. Some free time in the afternoon for shopping and rest. Dinner and overnight in Prague.

Day 13 – Oct. 10

After breakfast we are transferred to the airport for a flight to Ottawa. Afternoon arrival.
