2pm Meet in the departure hall at Pearson airport, to check in for the AIR CANADA flight to Tel Aviv. Leave Toronto on a non-stop, direct overnight to Tel Aviv at 5pm., meals served on board.
Day 2 April 15 ~ Thursday
WELCOME TO ISRAEL
10am Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport and meet with your guide. Travel north; stop to visit Caesarea Maritima – the Roman capital built by King Herod the Great boasting the largest port in the Mediterranean. Here Pontius Pilate had his seat; Cornelius lived and was baptized (Acts 10); Paul embarked to Tarsus (Acts 9:30) and Philip preached (Acts 8:40). Tour the historical site including: the theater, the Hippodrome and the new Roman exhibit in the Crusader City. Stop to view the aqueduct. 1 night: Nes Ammim hotel ~ Nahariya (Dinner)
Day 3 April 16 ~ Friday
Drive through the upper Galilee to Safed one of the 4 Jewish “City Kingdoms” and a major medieval Jewish centre. Enjoy a stroll through the ancient city with an opportunity to visit many colourful stores. Proceed to Nazareth, the boyhood town of Jesus, visit Nazareth Village to relive life from the time of Jesus and view the Church of the Annunciation. Stop at Yardenit for baptism in the Jordan River. (If you wish to be baptized please inform Gillian email@example.com prior to departure from Canada) Sail on the Sea of Galilee, then visit the famous ancient fishing vessel from the time of Jesus and learn about its discovery. Time permitting continue to Mt. Arbel for a great view of the area of Jesus ministry in the Galilee. 2 nights: Lake House hotel ~ Tiberias (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 4 April 17 ~ Saturday
Travel to Dan to visit this lush nature trail the largest source of the Jordan river; Visit to include the Iron age gate the Bronze age mud brick gate at Dan of Abraham’s fame (Genesis 14:14). Continue to Banias, visit one of the sources of the Jordan River, site of ancient “Caesarea Philippi” where Peter made his confession of faith in Christ (Matt. 16:16). Enjoy a St Peter’s fish lunch. Stop on the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered “The Sermon on the Mount” (Matt.5). Visit sites central to Jesus’ Ministry – starting at Kfar Nahum, Capernaum, centre of Jesus’ Ministry in the Galilee and the site of many of his miracles (Mark 2:4; Matt.8:5; 14-7; 9; 1-7; 17: 18). See the remains of St Peter’s house and the ancient synagogue where Jesus taught and worshipped (Mark 1:21; Luke 4:31). Proceed to the Church of the Primacy of Peter in Tabgha. Day 5 April 18 ~ Sunday
Travel south along the Jordan Valley to the Allenby Bridge and cross into Jordan. Continue to Madaba to study the unique ancient Byzantine mosaic map of the world. Emulating the children of Israel and Moses, stop on Mt. Nebo for a glimpse of the Promised Land. Travel south through the Moab Mountains to Mukawir (Machaerus), a remote desert fortress that king Herod built, where Herod Antipas had a palace and beheaded John the Baptist. Time permitting stop at little Petra. 1 night: Petra Palace hotel ~ Petra (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 6 April 19 ~ Monday
PETRA & DEAD SEA
Get an early start, walking and riding into the centre of the ancient Nabatean capital, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Enjoy the splendor of the “sik” a unique gorge, culminating with the first glimpse of the Hezna (Treasury), a magnificent Mausoleum. See the stunning charm of the extensive Necropolis and the colourful hues of the sandstone. Mid-afternoon leave Petra travelling south on the Kings Way. Then cross into Israel at the Arava terminal. Proceed via the Arava Valley to the lowest place on earth at the Dead Sea (417 meters below sea level).

Day 7 April 20 ~ Tuesday
Spend the morning enjoying the spa facilities (some services are at an additional cost) and the unique experience ~ “float” in the Dead Sea, you cannot sink! Travel north to the Southern alter and pray for the future of Israel. Visit Masada –
ruins of King Herod’s remote, looming mountaintop fortress, later the last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans in 73 (ACE), ascend and descend by cable car. Enjoy the hotel facilities before dinner. (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 8 April 21 ~ Wednesday
DEAD SEA TO JERUSALEM
Travel north along the Dead Sea shore. View Ein Gedi Oasis where David fled the wrath of King Saul. Stop to visit Qumran, where a Bedouin discovered the Dead Sea scrolls in a nearby cave. Continue through the Judean wilderness to the Holy City. View the Holy Temple from the Mt of Olives, then follow in the footsteps of Jesus and the Galileans, walk down the hillside via Dominus Flevit to Gethsemane – the Church of All Nations and visit adjacent the Olive garden, with time for reflection and prayer. View of some unique ancient tombs in the Kidron Valley, the Valley of Jehoshaphat as you make your way to Mt Zion. Visit the Church of the Last Supper in the Upper Room and St Peter in Gallicantu, the site of Peter’s denial of the Lord Jesus. 4 nights: Caesar hotel ~ Jerusalem (Breakfast & dinner)

Day 9 April 22 ~ Thursday
Visit the Jerusalem Archaeological Park (Southern Wall Excavations) including the very same ancient steps that Jesus and the Galilean pilgrims used to enter and exit the Holy Temple. Stop at the Western Wall (Kotel), an important Jewish prayer and pilgrimage site, and then walk back in time under the city through Western Wall Tunnels (Excavations). Continue to the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the paralytic man and enjoy the acoustics at St Anne’s Church. Pay respect to the victims of the Shoah at Yad Vashem, National Memorial and Museum of the Holocaust. Visit the Model of Jerusalem, the city from the time of Jesus and the adjacent Shrine of the Book, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls. (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 10 April 23 ~ Friday
Enter the Old City, walk the quaint cobble stone ancient alleyways to the Jewish Quarter. Stops to include the Temple Mt Institute and the many unique archaeological windows into the layered past. Continue through the Suk (market) and the ancient alleyways of the Old City to the Garden Tomb. Remember the resurrection, with time for contemplation and communion. Travel to Bethlehem birth place of Christ, visit Shepherds Field and shop at an Olive wood factory. Consider visiting the Western Wall at sunset to witness the greeting of the Sabbath Bride. (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 11 April 24 ~ Saturday
Spend the day at leisure in Jerusalem, maybe revisit places of interest or do some last minute shopping in the Old City. Visit the many fine Museums the City offers (modest entrance fee required). Enjoy a farewell dinner in the hotel.

RETURN TO CANADA
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Canada. Leave Tel Aviv for Toronto at 11:50am on the direct non-stop AIR CANADA flight arriving at 4:25pm, meals served on board.
