Day 2 ~ Monday
Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport at 10am and meet your guide. Your introduction to the Land of Everlasting Promise starts with the famous Biblical Botanical Gardens at Neot Kedumim, which embodies the panorama and power of the land, the nature of which fashioned Judaism, early Christianity and Islam, enriched the Bible and provided rich vocabulary for conveying exceptional values. Drive north through the Plain of Sharon and along the Mediterranean coast, Stop to visit Caesarea built by King Herod the Great including the largest port in the Mediterranean. Here Pontius Pilate had his seat; Cornelius lived and was baptized (Acts 10); Paul embarked to Tarsus (Acts 9:30) and Philip preached (Acts 8:40). Visit the Roman Theatre, the Hippodrome, and the lifeline of the city – the aqueducts. 4 nights: Royal Plaza hotel ~ Tiberias (Dinner)
TO THE SEA OF GALILEE
Day 3 ~ Tuesday
Travel to Megiddo to visit one of King Solomon’s fortified city kingdoms (1 Kings 9:15; 10:26), with some 25 levels of impressive ruins. From here the Books of Daniel and Revelation will come alive as you read about the final Battle of Armageddon, while viewing the fertile plains of the Jezreel valley. Travel north and east to the Sea of Galilee, then stop at Magdala, where you begin a tour of Jesus’ Ministry around the Sea of Galilee. Tour the new archeological discovery in the village of Mary Magdalene and the very synagogue that Mary Magdalene would have worshipped in. Continue along the Northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, as Jesus and the disciples did to Tabgha, to visit the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish. Then proceed to the Mt. of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the “Sermon On The Mount” (Matt.5). Then stop at Capernaum, centre of Jesus’ Ministry in the Galilee and site of many of his miracles (Mark 2:4; Matt.8:5-14; 9:1-7 & 18-22). See the remains of St Peter’s mother in-law’s house and the ancient synagogue, where Jesus taught and worshipped (Mark 1:21; Luke 4:31). Then visit the ancient boat from the time of Jesus, discovered in the Sea of Galilee in Gennasereth. End the day sailing on the Sea of Galilee, like the fishermen disciples did, with time for contemplation and prayer. (Breakfast & dinner)
FINGER OF GALILEE
Day 4 ~ Wednesday
Start the day driving north via the Hula valley to ancient Dan where Jeroboam set up an altar after leading the rebellion against King Rehoboam and the Kingdom of Judah (1 Kings 12:30), and where archaeologists discovered proof of the reign of King David. Continue to the foot of the Golan Heights and the northern point of Jesus’ ministry to visit Banias, one of the sources of the Jordan River, site of ancient “Caesarea Philippi” where Jesus asked, “Who do men say I am?” and Peter made the confession of faith in Christ (Matt; 16:16). Proceed to Kalat Nimrod, to visit a fascinating fortress that for many hundreds of years guarded the route to Damascus. Travel onto the Golan Heights. Stop in the Valley of Tears to learn about the heroic tank battle fought there in 1973 then continue south and return to the Sea of Galilee. Time permitting stop at Chorazin of “Woe to thee….” Fame (Mat 11:21) and visit the fine ancient synagogue, an olive press and mikvah (ritual bath). (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 5 ~ Thursday
Travel to Nazareth – if possible visit the excavations adjacent to and Church of Annunciation. Then stop at the Historical Nazareth Village to relive village life from the time of Jesus. Drive south through the lower Galilee to Ein Harod where one visits Gideon’s spring. In addition to the connection to the Biblical events of Goliath's death (1 Samuel 17) and Gideon's defeat of the Midianites (Judges 7), it has also been proposed as the location of Saul's defeat of the Philistines (1 Samuel 29); Continue to and visit Beit Shean, where the bodies of King Saul & his 3 sons where hung on the ancient walls (1 Samuel 31:10), one the largest archaeological sites in Israel known in Jesus’ day as Scythopolis, capital of Decapolis. Travel north, stop to visit Beit Gabriel a splendid regional culture center on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the peace treaty with Jordan was signed here. (Breakfast & dinner)
FROM GALILEE INTO JORDAN
Day 6 ~ Friday
Get an early start.Travel south in the Jordan valley, where the desert now blooms with flowers and vegetation of every description (Isaiah 35:1-2), to the Sheikh Hussein or Allenby Bridge and cross into Jordan. Travel through the Moab Mountains to Madaba to study the unique, ancient, Byzantine mosaic map of the world. Emulating the children of Israel and Moses, stop on Mt. Nebo for a glimpse of the Promised Land. Continue south through the Moab Mountains, stop to view Mukawir where Herod Antipas beheaded John the Baptist, time permitting visit Little Petra. 1 Night Guest House or Village hotel ~ Petra (Breakfast & dinner)
PETRA AND THE DEAD SEA
Day 7 ~ Saturday
Get an early start. Take a short horse ride (700 meters) then walk through the stunning gorge into Petra, to visit one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, centre and capital of the ancient Nabateans. Witness the stunning magnificent hues of the colourful sandstone, the unique charm and marvels of this striking necropolis. After lunch travel north and descend to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth (417 meters below sea level). Spend the remainder of the day at leisure with time to enjoy the hotel facilities and for a unique experience, “float” in the Dead Sea – you cannot sink! 1 night Crowne Plaza spa hotel ~ Dead Sea (Breakfast & dinner)
MASADA, HEBRON & JERUSALEM
Day 8 ~ Sunday
Travel to the Allenby Bridge and cross into Israel. Continue south along the shore of the Dead Sea, view Qumran and Ein Gedi. Ascend by cable car to visit Masada – ruins of King Herod’s mountaintop fortress, later the last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against Rome in 73 C.E. Witness the last days of this fortress and descend via the Roman siege ramp. Then ascend through the Judean Desert and stop at the cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. Continue North West to visit the famous excavations at Lachish, an important fortified city in the kingdom of Judea. End the day travelling via Ein Kerem – birthplace of the John the Baptist to the Holy City. 4 nights: Prima Kings ~ Jerusalem (Breakfast & dinner)
Day 9 ~ Monday
Before breakfast travel to Bethlehem, to visit the Church of the Nativity, birthplace of Jesus. Stop on the Mount of Olives, for a wonderful, panoramic view of Jerusalem, old and new. Following in the footsteps of Jesus and the disciples, visit the Garden of Gethsemane, at the Church of All Nations, with time for contemplation and prayer in an adjacent Olive grove. Stop at Yad Vashem to pay your respect to the victims of the Shoah (Holocaust) including 6 million Jews. Visit the Garden of the Righteous Among the Nations, the Museum of the Shoah and the Children’s Memorial. Continue across the city to visit King David’s City: including; the G area, Warren’s shaft, the Canaanite (dry) or Hezekiah’s (wet) tunnel and the Pool of Siloam. View the recently uncovered road from Siloam to the Temple Mount. Proceed to the Southern Wall Archaeological Park ~ visit the extensive excavations along the South Western Wall of the Temple Mount and stand on the very same stairs that Jesus might have used entering/exiting the House of The Lord.)

Day 10 ~ Tuesday
Visit the Western Wall, an important Jewish prayer and pilgrimage area, then walk back in time through the unique Western Wall tunnels. Stop at the Pools of Bethesda and enjoy the splendid acoustics in St. Anne’s Church. Proceed along the Stations of the Cross through the “Suk,” the colourful bazaars, alleyways and market place to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Continue through the alleyways of the Jewish quarter stopping at some archaeological windows into the cities layered passed. Exit the city at Zion gate to Mt Zion where you visit:- St Peter Gallicantu, a Church built on the site of the High priest Caiaphas’s home (Matthew 26:57-75, John 18:12-14). End the day at the Israel Museum to visit the model of Jerusalem from the time of Jesus and the adjacent Shrine of the Book – home of the Dead Sea scrolls.

Spend the day at leisure with time to explore or shop in Jerusalem. OR Take an optional tour to SAMARIA - Travel north to Shiloh, where the holy Tabernacle stood for 369 years. Stop at the Three Seas lookout to view Samaria’s Biblical mountains; Elon Moreh (Oak of Moreh), where God first promised Abraham the land of Israel; Mt. Gerizim, the mountain of blessing; Mt. Ebal, the mountain of curses and the location of Joshua’s altar. Visit the Samaritans and a Jewish community to soak up local color while meeting with local residents.
