Departure from Canada
Afternoon departure from Calgary via Amsterdam to Zagreb in Croatia.
May 3
Zagreb
Upon arrival we are transferred to our hotel in Zagreb. Dinner and overnight.
May 4
Zagreb-Medjugorje
Morning panoramic tour of Zagreb. In the afternoon, departure by bus to Medjugorje. Upon arrival we are transferred for Mass, dinner and overnight.
May 5
Medjugorje
Full day in Medjugorje. Time to visit the famous mountain of the Stations of the Cross and the Rosary Mountain. Mass, time for individual prayer, dinner and overnight.
May 6
Medjugorje
Another full day in Medjugorje. For those interested an optional tour to Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful towns in the Mediterranean. We visit the mediaeval old town surrounded by walls, we see Bell Tower, Pile Gate, Onofrio Fountain and Placa Stradun. Return to Medjugorje for dinner and overnight.
May 7
Split - ferry to Ancona
After breakfast we travel to Split in Croatia. We visit the fortress like complex of Diocletian's Palace and the beautiful old city full of churches, shops and cafes. After dinner we board an overnight ferry to Ancona in Italy.
May 8
Ancona - Padua
After our morning arrival in Ancona we travel to Padua, the city of St. Anthony. En route we stop in Ravenna where we visit St. Vitaly Basilica from the 6th century. Continue to Padua to visit St. Anthony Basilica. Mass, dinner and overnight.
May 9
Venice
This morning we explore the old city of Venice, where we relish the sights and sounds of this serene city including a canal cruise by motor launch to St. Mark’s Square. We view the bridge of Sighs and Doge’s Palace. In the afternoon Mass, some free time for shopping or leisure, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
May 10
Verona - Einsiedeln
Today we travel to Einsiedeln in Switzerland. En route we stop in Verona, where we see the historical centre, Piazza Bra and the Arena, the ancient churches of San Fermo and Sant’Anastasia, the Cathedral (Duomo) and famous balcony of Romeo and Juliet. Dinner and overnight in Einsiedeln.
May 11
Lucerne
After breakfast we visit the mediaeval Shrine of Our Lady of Hermits. Later we travel to Lucerne where our sightseeing tour takes us to Lion Monument by B. Thorvaldsen, the Cathedral of St. Leodegar and the Kapellbrucke, an old bridge originally built in 1333. Some free time for leisure before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
May 12
Milan - Turin
This morning we depart to Turin. En route we stop in Milan where we visit the imposing 14th century Duomo and Corso Vittorio Emanuelle II. Mass, dinner and overnight in Turin.
May 13
Turin - Avignon
Our tour of Turin will include Piazza San Carlo, Piazza Castello, Vio Po, Royal Palace and Monte dei Cappuccini. We also visit St. John the Baptist Cathedral, where the Shroud of Turin is located. Afternoon we depart to Avignon for dinner and overnight.
May 14
Avignon - Lourdes
After breakfast we visit the old city of Avignon, its exceptional complex of monuments listed by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Continue through the splendid vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon to Lourdes. Mass, dinner, procession with candles and overnight.
May 15
Lourdes
Full day in Lourdes. Time to visit the Grotto and the Basilicas. We will have Mass and The Way of The Cross, time for individual prayer and bath, dinner and overnight.
May 16
return to Canada
After breakfast we are transferred to the airport for a flight to Calgary via Amsterdam. Evening arrival.
