Evening departure from Toronto to Prague, the capital of Czech Republic.
Afternoon arrival in Prague. Transfer to our hotel for some rest, dinner and overnight.
Full day in beautiful Prague. We visit the Church of Our Lady of Victory and see the renowned statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. We visit the Old Town by the way of Golden Lane and then go to the Lesser Town to see the medieval Charles Bridge. We also see St. Nikolas Church, the Astronomic Clock, Wenceslas Square and the Castle District with St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George’s Basilica. Some free time in the afternoon for shopping and rest. Dinner and overnight in Prague.
Today we travel to Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. En route we stop in Bratislava where we celebrate Mass followed by sightseeing tour of Bratislava. On to Budapest Upon arrival in Budapest dinner and overnight.
Our sightseeing tour of Budapest starts with a view of the 13th century St. Matthias Cathedral, the Citadel on Mt. Gellert, the Royal Castle, the Parliament, Hero’s Square and the St. Stephen Basilica. Afternoon some free time for leisure. Evening cruise on Danube river, dinner and overnight in Budapest.
Morning departure by motorcoach to Gyor which is located halfway between Budapest and Vienna in the northwestern corner, one of the more important cities in Hungary, it is known as the town of rivers; it sits at the meeting point of three rivers, the Danube, Rába, and Rábca. Continue to Vienna, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight in Vienna.
Sightseeing tour of Imperial Vienna including the Opera House, Hofburg Palace, Belvedere Palace and its formal gardens. Then stroll the Garden, the pedestrian shopping street leading to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Schonbrunn Palace. In the evening an optional Concert. Dinner and overnight in Vienna.
Melk Abbey, Salzburg
After breakfast we travel to Melk Abbey, a Benedictine abbey above the town of Melk, Lower Austria, on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube river, adjoining the Wachau valley. The abbey contains the tomb of Saint Coloman of Stockerau and the remains of several members of the House of Babenberg, Austria's first ruling dynasty. Continue to Salzburg, transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast morning tour of Salzburg to include views of the Residence, the Carillon, the Cathedral, the Franciscan Church and Mozart Square. Afternoon at leisure for rest or shopping. Dinner and overnight in Salzburg.
After breakfast we travel to Neuschwanstein to visit the fairy-tale castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Mass, dinner and overnight in Fussen.
Return to Canada
After breakfast we are transferred to the airport in Munich for a flight back to Toronto. Afternoon arrival.
