Day 1 – Sep 11
Evening departure from Toronto to Budapest via Amsterdam.
Day 2 – Sep 12
Early afternoon arrival in Budapest. Transfer to our hotel, some time for rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Sep 13
Our sightseeing tour of Budapest starts with a view of the 13th century St. Matthias Church, the Citadel on Mt. Gellert, the Royal Castle, the Parliament, Hero’s Square and the St. Stephen Basilica. In the afternoon we take a Danube River cruise and dinner. Return to hotel for overnight.
Day 4 – Sep 14
This morning we depart for Vienna, the capital of Austria. Upon arrival we have Mass and free time. In the evening an optional concert.
Day 5 – Sep 15
After breakfast we view Hofburg – the imperial palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Opera. We tour the Schonbrunn Palace where we celebrate Mass. After Mass we continue to Salzburg for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Sep 16
In the morning our guided tour of the city will include views of the Residence, the Carillon, the Cathedral, the Franciscan Church and Mozart Square. After lunch we depart to Prague for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Sep 17
Full day in magnificent Prague. We celebrate Mass at the Church of Our Lady of Victory and see the renowned statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. We visit the Old Town by the way of Golden Lane and then go to the Lesser Town to see the medieval Charles Bridge. We also see St. Nikolas Church, the Astronomic Clock and the Castle District where we tour St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and Wenceslas Square. Some free time in the afternoon for shopping and leisure. Dinner and overnight in Prague.
Day 8 – Sep 18
After breakfast we depart for Czestochowa – the site of Poland’s greatest shrine – Our Lady of Czestochowa, also known as the “Black Madonna”. We celebrate Mass and venerate the priceless and miraculous icon. Continue to Krakow, the ancient capital of Poland. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9 – Sep 19
Today we visit the world-famous salt mines in Wieliczka. In the afternoon we travel to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi concentration camp. We visit a cell in which St. Maximilian Kolbe died and also the Martyrdom Museum recalling the horrors of the Holocaust. Return to Krakow for dinner and overnight.
Day 10 – Sep 20
After breakfast we visit Lagiewniki – world known as “Divine Mercy Shrine”. This is where St. Faustyna had numerous visions of Christ, who told her to keep a diary of their encounters, during which he spoke to her of the Divine Mercy. We celebrate Mass and visit the convent of St. Faustyna, her tomb and relics. Free time for individual prayer. Continue to Krakow’s Old Town. We visit the Market Square where we hear the silver trumpet of the bugler form the tower of St. Mary’s Church. We also admire the Town Hall Tower, the Cloth Hall and most of all the Wawel Royal Castle and the Cathedral. Some free time for last minute shopping. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.
Day 11 – Sep 21
This morning we are transferred to the airport for a flight to Toronto via Amsterdam. Afternoon arrival.
