Day 1 – May 30
Morning departure to Mexico City. Upon arrival we are transferred to the “City of Angels”- Puebla for Mass, dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – May 31
We start the day with a tour to the old city, the Cathedral, Dominican Cloister and the Rosary Chapel. Continue to Tlaxcala and the Shrine of San Miguel del Milagro. Celebrate Mass at the site where St Michael the Archangel appeared to Diego Lazaro in 1631 directing him to the Grotto and to a well of miraculous waters. See the image of Our Lady of Ocotlan burnt into a tree trunk after she appeared to Diego Bernardino in 1531. Perfectly preserved, the image in a tree resides in the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan. Dinner and overnight in Puebla.
Day 3 – June 1
After breakfast we visit the small Indian baroque church of Tonantzintla and Cholula Church constructed on the top of Great Pyramid. Continue to the famous “Silver City”- Taxco. We get acquainted with the history of silver mining in Mexico, visit jewels of baroque style architecture – St Priscilla and St Sebastian Church where we celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight in Taxco.
Day 4 – June 2
This morning we depart to Mexico City. Upon arrival we visit the Square of the Three Cultures and continue to the Old and the New Basilica dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, visited by several million pilgrims every year, built near the location where Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego in 1531. We celebrate Mass and learn about the history of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Blessed Juan Diego. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City.
Day 5 – June 3
Full day in Mexico City. We explore magnificent city center built on top of the ruins of the Aztec capital city. We stop at the Zocalo (main square), Palacio National, celebrate Mass in the Cathedral and drive along famous Paseo de la Reforma. Transfer to the church of The Sacred Heart of Jesus in Xalpa for a visit and a dinner (dinner under own arrangement). Return to our hotel for overnight
Day 6 – June 4
After breakfast we travel to Teotihuacan and the largest American Pyramids, the pyramid of the Sun and the Moon as well as the Pyramid of the “Feathered Dragon”, ranked among the biggest in the world. Afternoon some time for leisure, dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – June 5
After breakfast farewell Mass at the Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe (time permitting) and transfer to the airport for our flight back to Toronto. Evening arrival.
