Day 1 – May 23

Evening departure from Toronto to Rome.

Day 2 – May 24

Morning arrival in Rome. Upon arrival we are transferred to San Giovanni Rotondo for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – May 25

Full day in San Giovanni Rotondo. We start our day with Mass at the Church where Padre Pio said Mass most of his days, and then we visit His tomb and the museum. Afternoon we travel to Monte San Angelo shrine, important pilgrimage destination since Middle Ages. Return to San Giovanni Rotondo for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – May 26

After morning Mass we travel to Pompeii, site of catastrophic volcano eruption in 79 AD. After tour of the site we move on to spectacular Sorrento on the Gulf of Naples. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – May 27

Full day excursion to the enchanting Island of Capri. We enjoy a walking tour in Capri Town, where we see across the sea the Faraglioni rocks and Marina Piccola, then have some free time to further explore the island. Later cruise back to Sorrento for Mass, dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – May 28

After breakfast Mass and some free time to explore Sorrento. Later we take a drive through the beautiful Amalfi Coast, including breath-taking vistas of Belvedere viewpoint. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – May 29

Today we travel to Rome. En route we stop in Cassino, site of the oldest Benedictine monastery and witness of one of the fiercest battles of the WWII. Continue to Nettuno to visit sanctuary of Santa Maria Goretti and celebrate Mass. Upon arrival in Rome dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – May 30

Full day in Rome. Our walking sightseeing tour starts at Piazza Navona dominated by the spectacular baroque Fountain of Four Rivers. Continue to Trevi Fountain, Piazza del Popolo, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Chiesa Nouva and St. Lorenzo church. Afternoon visit to St. Peter’s basilica. Mass and some free time for leisure before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – May 31

After breakfast we are transferred to the airport for a flight to Munich. Upon arrival we travel to Fussen in German Alps. Mass, dinner and overnight.

Day 10 – June 1

Today we visit Neuschwanstein to see the fairy-tale castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Afternoon we continue to Oberammergau or surrounding area for dinner and overnight in special accommodation.

Day 11 – June 2

This morning we have some free time to enjoy picturesque village of Oberammergau. In the afternoon and evening we participate in the Passion Play performed every 10 years in this small town. This wonderful spectacle of pageantry takes place outdoors where the sky and mountains are the back drop, world renown for the costumes and music presentation, performed by more than 2,000 citizens. Dinner and overnight.

Day 12 – June 3

After breakfast we are transferred to the airport in Munich for a flight back to Toronto. Afternoon arrival.
