Day 1 – Sep 13, 2018
Late afternoon departure from Toronto to Venice.
Day 2 – Sep 14, 2018
Morning arrival in Venice. We are transferred to Padua where we visit Basilica of St. Anthony, his tomb and we celebrate Mass. Continue to our hotel in Venice for rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Sep 15, 2018
Today we visit the old city of Venice, where we relish the sights and sounds of this serene city including canal cruise by motor launch to St. Mark’s Square. We view the bridge of Sighs and Doge’s Palace. In the afternoon some free time for shopping or leisure, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – Sep 16, 2018
After breakfast we travel to Rijeka in Croatia. En route we stop at the Basilica of Mary Mother and Queen Montegrisa in Trieste where we celebrate Mass. Continue to Rijeka, a pearl of Croatia’s Dalmatian shore. Some free time, dinner and overnight in Rijeka.
Day 5 – Sep 17, 2018
This morning we leave for Madjugorje in Bosnia. En route we stop in Split to visit fortresslike complex of Diocletian’s Palace and beautiful old city full of churches, shops and cafes. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 6 – Sep 18, 2018
Full day in Medjugorje. Time to visit the famous mountain of the Stations of the Cross and the Rosary Mountain. Mass, time for individual prayer, dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Sep 19, 2018
Today we travel to Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. Upon arrival our tour of Zagreb takes us to the thousand-year old Gornji grad (Upper Town) with the Presidential Palace, the iconic St Mark’s Church, the Croatian parliament (Sabor) and the 19th century Dolnji grad (Lower Town). Dinner and overnight.
Day 8 – Sep 20, 2018
After breakfast we leave Zagreb for Vienna, the capital of Austria. En route we visit Mariazell, the most important pilgrimage destination in Austria and one of the most visited shrines in Europe. We visit the church, where we honor a miraculous wooden image of the Virgin Mary. Continue to Vienna for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 – Sep 21, 2018
Full day in Vienna. Our morning tour of Vienna takes us to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Opera and the Schonbrunn Palace. In the afternoon Mass, some free time for leisure or shopping. In the evening an optional concert. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10 – Sep 22, 2018
Today we travel to Prague, the capital city of Czech Republic, the “Golden City”. En route we stop in Melk to visit magnificent Baroque Benedictine monastery. Continue to Prague for dinner and overnight.
Day 11 – Sep 23, 2018
Full day in beautiful Prague. We visit the Church of Our Lady of Victory and see the renowned statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. We visit the Old Town by the way of Golden Lane and then go to the Lesser Town to see the medieval Charles Bridge. We also see St. Nikolas Church, the Astronomic Clock and the Castle District where we tour St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica and Wenceslas Square. Some free time in the afternoon for shopping and rest. Dinner and overnight in Prague.
Day 12 – Sep 24, 2018
This morning we leave for Krakow. En route we visit Wadowice, the birthplace of St. John Paul II where we celebrate Mass. Upon arrival in Krakow time for rest, dinner and overnight.
Day 13 – Sep 25, 2018
Today we explore Krakow’s Old Town. We visit the Market Square where we hear the silver trumpet of the bugler form the tower of St. Mary’s Church. Many of the buildings around the square and in the Old Town are over 700 years old and include marvels such as the Town Hall Tower, the Cloth Hall and most of all the Wawel Royal Castle. In the afternoon we visit Lagiewniki – world known as “Divine Mercy Shrine”. This is where St. Faustyna had had numerous visions of Christ, who told her to keep a diary of their encounters, during which he spoke to her of the Divine Mercy. We visit the convent of St. Faustyna, her tomb and relics. Dinner and overnight in Krakow.
Day 14 – Sep 26, 2018
After breakfast we start with an excursion to the world-famous salt mines in Wieliczka. Afternoon we travel to Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi concentration camp. We visit a cell in which St. Maximilian Kolbe died and also the Martydom Museum recalling the horrors of the Holocaust. Return to Krakow for dinner and overnight in Krakow
Day 15 – Sep 27, 2018
Today we are travel to Warsaw, capital of Poland. En route we stop in Czestochowa – the site of Poland’s greatest shrine – Our Lady of Czestochowa, also known as the “Black Madonna”, a pilgrimage destination that goes back to the 14th century. We venerate the priceless and miraculous icon and celebrate Mass. Upon arrival in Warsaw a panoramic tour takes to Old Town, Royal Castle and Barbican. Dinner and overnight.
Day 16 – Sep 28, 2018
This morning we are transferred to the airport in Warsaw for a direct flight to Toronto. Early afternoon arrival.
