Lisbon - Fatima
Afternoon arrival in Lisbon. Sightseeing tour of Lisbon, including the: Great Gothic Monastery of St. Jeronimo, an impressive symbol of Portugal’s power and wealth during the Age of Discovery; St. George’s Castle, a Moorish Castle with commanding views of the city; the Church of St. Anthony, a charming baroque church dedicated to St. Anthony, the parton saint of Portugal; Belem Tower, an architectural jewel, originally built to defend the city; the Harbour and other highlights. Continue to Fatima, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, where the three little shepherds, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, witnessed apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Santarem - Nazare - Fatima
Morning departure to Santarem. Visit the Church of the Holy Miracle, home to the 13th Century Eucharistic miracle, the Bleeding Host. Visit the beautiful fishing village of Nazare. Return to Fatima. Dinner and overnight.
Full day in Fatima for devotion and meditation. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Porto - Santiago de Compostela
Morning departure to Porto, set upon the steep banks of the Douro River, then on to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the final stop on the Way of Saint James pilgrimage route.
Santiago de Compostela, Covadonga
Morning visit to the famous St. James Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the reputed burial place of Saint James the Great. Afternoon departure to Covadonga, gateway to the stunning Picos de Europa mountains, and where the Re-conquest of Spain began under King Pelayo. Dinner and overnight in Covadonga.
Loyola - Lourdes
Morning proceed to Loyola, the birthplace of St. Ingatius of Loyola. Founder of the Jesuits. In the afternoon departure by motorcoach through the spectacular Pyrenees Mountains to Lourdes, the birthplace of St. Bernadette to whom Our Lady appeared in 1858. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Full day in Lourdes. Time to visit the Grotto and the Basilicas. We have Mass and walk The Way of The Cross, time for individual prayer and bath, dinner and overnight
Carcassonne - Barcelona
After morning Mass we travel to Barcelona. En route we stop at Carcassonne (time permitting) to visit this beautifully preserved medieval fortified town with its massive defences encircling the castle. Continue to Barcelona for dinner and overnight.
Morning tour of Barcelona features the Columbus Monument, the elegant tree lined “Ramblas”, Plaza de Catalonia, Paseo de Gracia and the famous church of Sagrada Familia where we celebrate Mass. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Monserrat - Barcelona
Morning excursion to Monserrat, the mountaintop Benedictine monastery, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Visit the black Madonna, with time for devotion and meditation.
Return to Barcelona for dinner and overnight.
Return to Canada
Today, our fascinating tour comes to an end. Transfer to airport for return flight to Toronto
