Morning arrival in Barcelona. Upon arrival we are transferred to our hotel in Tarragona, some free time for rest. Late afternoon a walking tour of this ancient Roman city, including views of Roman amphitheatre, aqueduct and city walls.
Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Full day in Tarragona region of Catalonia. We visit the monastery of Poblet dated back to 13th century and still occupied by Cistercian monks. Continue to Santes Creus to visit another mediaeval Cistercian monastery.
Mass, return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Today we travel to Monserrat to visit enchanting Benedictine monastery and the Black Madonna of Montserrat where we celebrate Mass. Continue to Barcelona and visit the Temple of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Tibidado. Some free time, evening dinner and flamenco show in a local restaurant and overnight.
Full day in Barcelona. Our tour of the capital city of Catalonia features the Columbus Monument, elegant tree lined “Ramblas”, Plaza de Catalonia, Paseo de Gracia, the Cathedral and the famous church of Sagrada Familia where we celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight.
This morning we travel to Girona where we visit the old city and the cathedral. After Mass continue to Abbaye de Fontfroide, former Cistercian monastery near Narbonne in France. Dinner and overnight in Avignon
Today we explore sights and atmosphere of beautiful Provence. We travel to and visit mediaeval monastery of Abbeye Senanque. Lunch will be offered at one of the local wineries. Continue to Nimes, “the most Roman city outside Italy” with many remnants of Roman architecture including Arena of Nîmes, the Maison Carrée and famous aqueduct and bridge Pont du Gard built in the first century AD. Return to our hotel for overnight.

Avignon, Palais des Papes
After breakfast we will visit and tour Palais des Papes, home for Roman Catholic popes for 67 years in the 14th century and the Cathedral.
Afternoon we continue via Bonnieux and its ancient Romanesque church to Aix-en-Provence for dinner and overnight.
Aix de Provence
Full day in charming Aix de Provence. Our walking tour will take us to The Cours Mirabeau, city’s main thoroughfare, the Cathedral of the Holy Saviour, the city hall and The Quartier Mazarin. Afternoon some free time for own exploration, dinner and overnight.
This morning we visit Marseille, the second largest city in France. Our tour will include the Old Port, guarded by two massive forts, the city hall, the Porte d'Aix, the cathedral and the Abbey of Saint-Victor, one of the oldest places of Christian worship in Europe. Afternoon we are transferred by train to Paris for dinner and overnight.
Return to Canada
After leisurable breakfast we are shuttled to the airport for a flight to Toronto. Evening arrival.
